Tanning beds have been the solution for several decades for those seeking that beautiful bronzed skin look. Research however, has shown that this is not the healthiest approach to tanning one's skin. Tanning beds will still emit dangerous ultra violet rays that can cause fatal melanomas. A better choice is the sprey tan technique.

The best way to get an even sprey tan is to visit a facility that has a stand up sprey tan booth. Inside the booth are rows of nozzles that will spray the tanning stain onto the body. Both the front and the back are treated in a matter of a few seconds but it is very important to follow the preparations prior to tanning to ensure the best results. You don't want to end up with a streaked, unnatural look for a week so following the recommendations for pre-tanning preparations should be done prior to stepping into the tanning booth.

The skin should first be exfoliated at home. The less there is of any dry skin on the body the better the stain will stick and look natural. A bit of time invested in scrubbing the face, and especially the knees and elbows will ensure that even application of the tanning spray.

A shower cap needs to be worn to keep the spray out of your hair. Push the cap off the ears and distanced from the hairline so that the tanning formula will blend in naturally as well in the hairline area. A barrier gel needs to be applied between the fingers, on the finger nails, and one the palms and soles to avoid getting those areas either overly tanned or tanned at all. Palms and soles have less pigment and typically don't tan.

Once inside the sprey tan booth it is also advised that you wear eye goggles as well as a nose plug. These are simply additional safety features that will ensure that you will not have any damage to the eyes or to your respiratory system. Then, follow the audio instructions for sprey tan by waving your hand over the start button.

A fine mist of sprey tan stain will be discharged from the nozzles that lasts about fifteen seconds. It will feel cool to the skin. Be sure that you keep your arms lifted up so that the mist will also reach the side of the torso. Once the sprey shuts off then turn around and repeat the process on the back but this time keeping the arms in the front of the body with the palms facing inward.

After another 15 seconds, the sprey tan system will stop and you can leave the booth. Once you have removed the shower cap, glasses and nose plugs you can take a towel and use it to remove any residual stain on the body. It is recommended that you wear loose clothing so as to reduce any risk of rubbing any of the freshly sprayed stain off. You can take a shower after waiting 7 hours.

Many people have found that sprey tan is a better alternative to the traditional tanning beds of the last few decades. The growing concern about exposing one's body to the ultra violet rays that have proven to cause melanomas is not something people want to expose themselves to anymore. The sprey tan technique is certainly here to stay.
